Even a boring press briefing is interesting with Rummy

My friends will laugh at this one. They know Rummy is my hero.

I am a big fan of Rummy as well. But I have read/heard some criticism of SecDef from former Military like Ralph Peters. He claims many Army officers dislike and distruct him. What's your take on that?

Great read. Thanks for sharing.

We owe a lot to Rumsfield and all of the individuals in the military and the Pentagon.

Here's one American saying thanks!

Re: Rummy.

He's one of my hero's too, but he's got a tough row to hoe in changing an entrenched bureaucracy. Machiavelli said:

"There is nothing more difficult to take in hand, more perilous to conduct or more uncertain in its success, than to take the lead in the introduction of a new order of things, because the innovator has for enemies all those who have done well under the old conditions, and lukewarm defenders in those who may do well under the new."
That's why we keep seeing reference to military people that dislike/hate him with the inference provided by the MSM that he's a failure.
Since I left the Marine Corps in 1968, I've been with another govt. agency (now retired from the USFS) and can speak with authority on how tough it is to change a lot of people that have "done well under the old conditions".
With luck, the administration will keep Rummy on and l have faith that he will get the needed work done.
Great site.
Happy Birthday and Semper Fi
