Venezuela to seize aristocrat's cattle ranch

We're keeping half an eyeball on things afoot in Venezuela here at The Adventures of Chester. Quick update: the place continues to go down the tubes. Wonder how much pull this "aristocrat" has in Britain. Margaret Thatcher would have already taken Caracas with a Royal Commando Brigade by now.

I just found your blog through Belmont Club. You have a good thing going here. Keep it up.

Regarding Venezuela. I lived in Caracas for 18 years untill August of 2001 and still spend about a month a year down there. Things are not going down the tubes. They are already in the tank, and there isn't a water treatment plant in sight.

I'd like to direct you to http://www.venezuelatoday.net/gustavocoronel.html. Gustavo almost always has remarks which are right on target, and he paints and accurate picture of the "Revolution" led by Chavez.

While the Brit's ranch was the one that made headlines in the international press, this sort of thing has been going on for a while, had has significantly scalated lately. Remeber, the first six years Chavez was just laying the groundwork. The gloves have just come off, and this will bet a lot worse for Venezuelans.

Regards,
Juan
